The following Bible verses are from the New King James Version:
1 John 5:4
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
1 John 5:5
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”’
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.”’
What is the second death?
Not a comforting title to say the least, but to not warn others about the ‘Fire and Brimstone’ would be far worse! The Bible is truth–and we can’t water it down.
The following verses from Revelation 21:7-8 and John 14:6 were in the above video. Read them for yourself.
Everyone of us has done one or more of those things listed that would have us take part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone.
Thank God that Jesus came to save us from that horrible place. Ask God to forgive you for those sins and all your sins and accept Jesus as your Savior and make Him Lord of your life. Ask Him for the Holy Spirit so He can help you change so you don’t continue to willfully sin. When you sin, ask God to forgive you right away and ask the Holy Spirit to teach you to pursue righteousness. It’s a journey and along the way, the Devil will try to tempt you to sin but you (apply Revelation 12:11) are an overcomer by the Blood of Jesus and the word of your testimony!
7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
That doesn’t sound like a good place to go
How do we overcome?
Trusting in Jesus is the way
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.”’
And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations—
He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.
He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.
To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
